Our client is an established supplier of manufactured steel plate products. We are looking for a DZ flatbed driver for Oct,01-Oct,07


Job Description for Truck Driver
  • Looking for AZ/DZ driver for local driving area (Southern Ontario), hauling steel products on an open flat bed with tie down straps.
  • Area of delivery includes London to Oshawa, St. Catharines to Newmarket.  Company located on the northern outskirts of Waterdown (Hamilton).
  • Starts 7:00 AM 10-12 hr shift

Role and Responsibilities
  • Perform and record daily pre-trip circle check inspection reports of the truck.
  • Safely and effectively operate the automatic transmission motorized vehicle.
  • Report required repairs and maintenance to the company representative that is in charge.
  • Perform accurate customer delivery in a timely manner and ensure accurate paperwork.
  • Interact with staff and customers in a positive and professional friendly manner.


Requirements
  • Valid DZ (minimum) or AZ license
  • Clean and current Commercial Vehicle Operators Registration Abstract and current Driver’s Licence Abstract (maximum of 2 demerit points)
  • Driver needs to provide at least 3 years prior experience letter from past employer(s).  This is due FISCO (Ontario govt insurance regulations) Rules states driver needs to have a Minimum of 3 years insurance experience of a heavy vehicle. The previous employers will be contacts to obtain insurance company information for verification. 
  • Forklift training an asset (certificate required)

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Proper safety attire (steel toed shoes or boots)
  • Tie down loads with safety straps
  • Proficient motor skills
