Job Specifics

Our client is an LTL carrier servicing Southwestern Ontario since 1999, with multiple vehicles running daily London through the GTA. Their fleet consists of modern, well-maintained vehicles. Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, home daily.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a DZ Driver, Dispatch, and Customer Service Representative. This role combines driving, dispatching, and customer service responsibilities to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer satisfaction within a local transportation company.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Duties:

  • Safely operate a DZ class vehicle for the delivery and pickup of goods.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to clients.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, locations, and customer signatures.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
  • All trucks are automatic
  • Hauling skidded freight with pump truck and tailgate deliveries. No dolly work
  • Must be comfortable driiving both tandem and single axle 24' and 30' trucks 

Dispatch Duties:

  • Coordinate and schedule drivers and vehicles for efficient delivery routes.
  • Monitor and track the progress of deliveries to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate with drivers to provide updates, instructions, and support as needed.
  • Resolve any issues or delays that arise during deliveries.
  • Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities and driver performance.

Customer Service Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery inquiries and concerns.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer needs and resolving issues promptly.
  • Communicate delivery schedules, changes, and delays to customers in a professional manner.
  • Handle customer inquiries and feedback, ensuring a positive resolution.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless customer service and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid DZ class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in a driving role, preferably within the transportation industry.
  • Experience in dispatching and/or customer service is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills to include Google Docs, Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work, including weekends and holidays if required
