Our client is the exclusive Canadian distributor of a premium motor oil that service retailers, automotive & commercial heavy-duty customers, and Motorcycle dealers.
- We are hiring a full time Driver/Warehouse Operator reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. The Driver/Warehouse Operator works within a collaborative team and plays a key role in delivering support as required in the warehouse, as well as having responsibility for stock transfers and loading/unloading vehicles to ensure efficient turnaround times within the warehouse. In addition, the Driver / Warehouse Operator operates our client's fleet of trucks, performing driving coverage as required including for vacation and absence coverage.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate everything that goes on and off delivery truck to allow flawless delivery execution.
- Accurately complete all required customer paperwork and daily route information.
- Perform long distance and overnight driving during multiple day deliveries as required.
- Cover off for other drivers’ and shipper vacations, absence, and fluctuating work volumes as required.
- Assist the Bulk Receiver as required.
- Perform all required package and warehouse duties including lift truck operations.
- Load and unload vehicles.
- Fill totes for client private fleet and remote warehouses.
- Participate in warehouse control and inventory cycle counting as well as client mandated inventory counting.
- Warehouse housekeeping as required.
- Attend Safety and Compliance Seminars and constantly strive to maintain a safe working environment.
- Help organize packaged goods shipments using client fleets or outside carriers.
- Receive and follow direction as needed. Support and promote the adherence to all client policies and procedures.
- Special projects and participation as required.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work well independently as well as with others.
- Takes responsibility and demonstrates integrity in all aspects of the works
- Is organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks at hand.
- Is in good physical condition to adequately manage physical aspects of role.
- Is a good communicator with a focus on customer service.
- Is familiar with all work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Able to work overtime as may be required to meet work demands.
- Has Class 1 license with clear Driver abstract.
- Has lift truck experience with valid lift truck training, license, and propane certification or ability to attain the same.
- Has good reading comprehension and writing and mathematical skills.
- Has or must be able to acquire the skills required to successfully demonstrate proficiency in Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods and US DOT regulations.
- Has sound knowledge of geographies of the Provinces of Quebec & Ontario currently serviced by the truck fleet.
- Is bilingual, English and French.
