Job Specifics

Our client is a large Canadian dairy company that specializes in the production and distribution of cheese and other dairy products. They offer a wide range of cheese varieties, including mozzarella, cheddar, feta, and specialty cheeses, which are distributed to retail, foodservice, and industrial customers globally. The company is known for its commitment to quality and innovation in the dairy industry.

We are looking for a Class 1 Truck Driver hauling a reefer trailer to join their team. 

Delivery Driver Responsibilities:
  • Hauling milk products including fluid milk, cheese & ice cream. 
  • Driver will go from Dartmouth (fully loaded trailer) and makes stops along the way to New Glasgow and back. Large supermarkets, full pallets. The odd stop will including picking from a pallet for delivery. 
  • Typically 5 - 8 stops/day. Same customers. 
  • Verifying orders at time of delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct.
  • Accepting payments for delivered items.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Adhering to assigned routes.
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
  • Merchandising, ordering, and inventory management require for select customer base.
  • Delivery Driver Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license issued with air brakes. Preference to drivers who hold class 1 or higher.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Experience may be required or preferred.
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail.

Shift times: 
  • Thursday - Sunday shift. 
  • Shifts starts at 3am daily, and will typically be 5 - 10 hours in duration
  • $200/day flat rate paid to driver
