Job Title: DZ Delivery Driver (Seasonal)
Location: Etobicoke, ON (Routes throughout Downtown Toronto & the GTA)
Compensation: $25.00 per hour (Overtime paid after 44 hours)
Job Type: Seasonal / Temporary, but could lead to full-time for the right driver!
About the Role: Our client specializes in the high-volume distribution of packaged ice products throughout Downtown Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Utilizing a fleet of refrigerated vehicles, they manage demanding seasonal delivery schedules that require precise urban routing and cold-storage handling. We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable DZ Driver on behalf of our client to support increased delivery demand during their peak season. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, managing efficient delivery routes, and providing excellent service. The length and frequency of assignments may vary depending on customer demand, weather conditions, and operational requirements.
Schedule:

Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Flexibility Required: Candidates must be flexible to accommodate earlier start times, later finishes, route delays, seasonal spikes, and occasional weekend coverage as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Urban Driving: Confidently and safely navigate through downtown Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), adapting to heavy traffic, narrow streets, tight loading areas, limited parking, and challenging customer access points.

Route Management: Navigate efficiently, adhere strictly to delivery schedules, and respond appropriately to traffic delays, road restrictions, and changing route conditions.

Physical Labor: Assist with hand-bombing and unloading products when required to ensure safe and timely deliveries.

Adaptability: Work comfortably for short periods in cold environments, including refrigerated trucks, freezers, and cold-storage areas.
Requirements & Qualifications:

License & Experience: A valid Ontario DZ license with a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated commercial driving experience.

Proof of Experience: Must be able to provide acceptable evidence of driving experience (e.g., an insurance experience letter, verifiable employer references, or a certificate of completion from a TTSAO-accredited commercial driving school).

Driver Record: Must provide a clean or acceptable driver abstract and CVOR, and meet all commercial insurance requirements.

Vehicle Experience: Prior experience operating straight trucks, box trucks, and refrigerated (reefer) trucks is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be physically capable of safely performing the work, which includes the ability to repeatedly lift and move products weighing up to 60 pounds.
