DZ Truck Driver – Residential Waste Collection - Owen Sound, ON
We’re hiring DZ-licensed drivers for residential curbside waste collection in the Owen Sound, ON area. This is a great opportunity for drivers who don’t mind staying active and enjoy working outdoors.
Position Overview:
- In this role, you’ll operate a residential waste collection truck while also assisting with the physical collection of curbside waste and recycling materials.
- Drivers work as part of a small crew and are responsible for completing assigned routes safely and efficiently.
- The majority of our operation is with one-man trucks. We have sideloaders for garbage/organics, top loads for recycle and one rear pack for garbage/organics.
- The driver we are looking for would operate a variety of them but most likely a top load truck for recycle.
Schedule & Pay:
- Start time: 6:30 a.m.
- Typical shift: 8–10 hours per day
- Pay rate: $29.05
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a DZ-licensed waste collection vehicle safely and responsibly
- Collect and load residential waste, recycling, and organic materials from curbside
- Ensure completion of daily route within established time frames
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Follow all safety and environmental regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid DZ licence (or equivalent)

Physically capable of repetitive lifting, bending, and climbing in/out of truck throughout the day
- Minimum age 18+
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork and safety
- Previous waste or driving experience is an asset but not required
