Job description
The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of automotive systems (mechanical, electrical, and software) as well as (autonomous vehicles) AV-specific hardware (LiDAR, cameras, radars, and embedded compute systems). You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and remote support teams to keep vehicles safe, available, and mission-ready.
As an Autonomous Vehicle Technician, you’ll:
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and scheduled maintenance on AVs, including ADAS sensors and base vehicle systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and computer-based issues using OEM tools and proprietary diagnostic platforms
- Respond rapidly via Slack to faults or alerts, resolving issues or coordinating vehicle recovery
- Facilitate hardware/software retrofits and updates, collaborating closely with engineering teams
- Document all work: fault logs, resolutions, parts used, and vehicle downtime
- Ensure fleet vehicles are show-ready for deployments or demos
- Enforce health and safety standards, use safe work procedures, and conduct risk assessments
- Participate in on-site support or remote field assistance
Ideal candidate profile
The required skills AND someone with: ASE or OEM technician certifications
Experience with sensor calibration, lidar/Radar systems, embedded modules
Exposure to Linux-based systems
Previous experience in AV field operations, depot support, or R&D fleet environments
Daily tasks

Required skills
Required 3–5+ years automotive technician experience, or equivalent vocational/technical training
Proficient diagnosing & repairing mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems (CAN, HV systems, sensors)
Comfortable working with EVs and hybrid drive systems
Strong computer skills: diagnostic software, google suite, JIRA, database logging
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with engineers, operations teams
Strong safety-first mindset, familiar with OSHA or equivalent procedures
Weds-Sunday Shift AM - 5AM-2PM
Weds-Sunday Shift PM - 2pm-10PM
Contract Length - 6 months to start possible extension
